About Hips & Grips
Hips & Grips is a Gi and No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training center. We are located in Payette, Idaho.
We offer classes Monday-Friday, along with a MMA/Thai boxing class on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Through learning Jiu-Jitsu you will develop self-defense skills to help you in the event of an attack, bully or any altercation when you need to defend yourself. It is an amazing form of self defense that will boost your confidence, endurance and overall strength. You will love our positive atmosphere! We welcome all adults and children of any skill level.
Whether your just stepping onto the mats for the first time or your advanced you can always learn and grow with dedication and consistency. Good attendance will only benefit your journey in Jiu-Jitsu.

If you want to continue, we do have Gi's and belts for purchase.
We are a month-to-month membership, with no contracts. Monthly memberships are due on the 1st of every month to guarantee your spot.

Head Coach - Jeremy Calhoun
Head Jiu-Jitsu and Thai Boxing Coach
Jeremy Calhoun is the owner and head coach of Hips&Grips. He started his Martial arts passion at the young age of 13. He first stepped into the cage at 16. Shortly after becoming a U.S.M.T.A Thai Boxing state champion at the age of 23. After fighting back in forth between the cage and the ring he decided to dive into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where he found his new passion, and is currently a black belt.
BJJ Advanced Instructor - Coach Mio
Head Judo, BJJ Advanced Class Instructor and lead womens self defense instructor.
Coach "Chris Mio" is our lead Judo coach, and lead women's self defense instructor. Chris has been a lifetime martial artist training and competing in various arts such as Shotokan Karate, Aikido, and Judo. After achieving his brown belt in Judo he decided to jump in Jiu-Jitsu where he now ranks as Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Coach Beltran "Chris Beltran" was in law enforcement for several years where he was trained in Arcon Combatitives before finding Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, now as an active competitor he leads our youth classes.
MMA and Boxing Coach - Ed Beemer
Lead MMA Coach/BJJ instructor
Ed Beemer is our lead MMA coach along with BJJ adults coach. Ed is a BJJ brown belt and has trained in mixed martial arts well over a decade.
